PSI's Monitoring Pen is a lightweight, portable and durable PAM fluorometer. It is an extended version of the popular FluorPen. Its robust and weatherproof construction allows the Monitoring Pen to be used for long-term, unattended monitoring of chlorophyll ﬂuorescence parameters in lab or field experiments, even in challenging environmental conditions. It is battery operated (internal or external battery) and can be provided with an optional solar panel power supply.
The Monitoring Pen is capable of measuring Ft, QY, OJIP, NPQ, and has automated Light Curve protocols. Its is invaluable for studying photosynthetic activity, long-term monitoring of photosynthetic performance in naturally changing environmental conditions, stress detection, herbicide testing, and for monitoring growth performance in controlled environments and field conditions.

Monitoring Pen is capable of measuring five most frequently used ﬂuorescence parameters: Ft, QY, OJIP, NPQ, and Light Curve. Thus it can be effectively used for studying photosynthetic activity, long-term monitoring of photosynthetic performance in naturally changing environmental conditions, stress detection, herbicide testing, or growth performance monitoring in controlled and field conditions.
Monitoring Pen features programmable autonomous operation with automated switch ON function, which allows long lasting and self-governing battery-powered operation. Measured data are sequentially stored in the internal FluorPen memory. Data transfer to a PC is via USB or Bluetooth communication. Comprehensive FluorPen software provides data transfer routines and many additional features for data presentation in tables and graphs.
Additionally, numerous monitoring units can be linked together and operated from the central steering unit, which is linked to a data logger and mobile modem for online data transfer (optional).
Monitoring Pen MP 100-A/A is intended for maximum water depth up to 2 meters. The device is equipped with two buttons that alow direct control of the device (even under water) by the user.
Monitoring Pen MP 100-A/B can be used in deeper water (maximum 10 m). There are no buttons on the device. This version is intended for automatic measuring; the device control is enabled via commands preprogrammed in a PC (placed on shore). The device is usually fixed in static position under water.
